Message from the Dean
The School of Social Work (SSW) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) has accomplished a great deal in a relatively short period of time. We initiated our BSW program almost 45 years ago and our MSW program is just shy of being 20 years old; yet, our School has climbed in national rankings to be in the top 75 schools of social work according to U.S. News and World Report 2019 rankings! We have some of the best trained research and teaching faculty in the country contributing to the scientific knowledge base and providing specialized training to the region’s growing social service workforce. Indeed, the national and international reputation of our scholars is impressive for a program that has yet to reach is golden anniversary.
We are excited about the sustained upward trajectory of the SSW and want to continue to maximize our impact as we celebrate milestone years of teaching, research, and service in 2019, and prepare for reaffirmation of both our BSW and MSW programs in 2020. Thank you for your continued support of our programs.
Celebrating 45 years of BSW education and 20 years of MSW education!
